Teachers Making Prints!

We made a variety of prints tonight:

  • Collgraphs with glue and various relief pieces
  • Rubbings from the backs of tiles, shoes, handbags, phones, etc.
  • Monoprints with yarn dipped in paint
  • Monoprints using bathroom tiles from Home Depot (only 16 cents a piece) and tempera paint
  • Engravings using foam board and toothpicks and other tools to carve out the surface
  • We tried to create a serigraph with recycled lace and shelving fabric but were not completely successful!
Most of our prints were printed on recycled tissue paper from Crate and Barrel.

Images will be here soon........just as soon as "J" sends them from her digital camera!

Vocabulary: brayer; ink; relief print; collograph; monoprint; serigraph
